To support the vision of our church by caring for people and helping them engage fully in the life and mission of the church.
Key Responsibilities
Integration System Oversight
You oversee the process of integrating people from first-time visitors to active members and leaders. This includes:
- Managing initial contact and follow-up procedures, including Connection Cards, emails, welcome gifts, and invitations to newcomer events (e.g., Newcomer’s Lunch).
- Coordinating the membership journey: handling applications, leading membership classes, conducting interviews, facilitating celebrations, and maintaining membership renewals, expiries, and transfers.
Volunteer System Oversight
You are responsible for the recruitment, onboarding, training, management, and celebration of volunteers throughout the church. This includes:
- Ensuring all eligible volunteers complete abuse prevention training at regular intervals.
- Conducting background checks, reference checks, and ensuring volunteers receive proper departmental training based on their role.
- Keeping volunteer records up-to-date using the church’s people management software, ensuring volunteers are serving in no more than two roles, and that staff are adhering to volunteer policies and procedures.
General Staff Responsibilities
As a member of the staff team, you serve the entire church and may be asked to support various ministries and events. This includes visitation, prayer, training, and other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager.
Team Culture and Alignment
You are expected to be familiar with and actively champion the church’s vision, values, policies, and procedures. You should approach your role with a flexible, servant-hearted, and positive attitude as you work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
