Purpose Statement
To support the mission and vision of our church by overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance, safety, and operations, ensuring our buildings and grounds are clean, functional, and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Oversight
- Develop and implement routine and preventive maintenance schedules for all church facilities, equipment, and systems.
- Coordinate with staff and external vendors to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Manage and oversee repairs, upgrades, and facility improvement projects, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and budget requirements are met.
Team & Vendor Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support janitorial and maintenance staff, promoting safety and professionalism.
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure high-quality, reliable service at competitive rates.
- Conduct regular evaluations of staff performance and contractor effectiveness.
Facility Operations
- Oversee and manage all major facility systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, landscaping, parking areas, alarms, and security systems.
- Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date records for permits, warranties, inspections, licenses, and other facility documentation.
- Manage facility usage, including event scheduling, room setup/teardown, and space optimization.
- Oversee inventory and storage of facility assets, supplies, and equipment.
Church-Wide Collaboration
- As a member of the staff team, support the broader ministry of the church through prayer, presence, and participation in events as needed.
- Champion the church’s mission, vision, and values in all facility-related work.
- Maintain a flexible, solution-oriented attitude while working alongside staff and volunteers.
